It's that time of the year again- when our thoughts turn to self-improvement, goal setting and new year's resolutions. Normally, I don't care for this time of the year. It's usually gray, smoggy and cold where I live and that weather makes me want to hunker down and hide until spring arrives. The last thing on my mind is setting a new year's resolution. But this year, we've been graced with some uncharacteristically gorgeous weather- warm (ish) temperatures, blue skies and sunshine- which makes me feel rather cheerful about setting some goals!
I recently had a baby and while I'd like to blame this extra weight I'm carrying on my recent pregnancy, I have to take responsibility for it. Boo. So one of my new year's resolutions is to get down to my goal weight, start exercising again, and to incorporate a better variety of healthful foods into my diet.
Tonight is my first Pilates class (I'm going with Mama Kate) and I've met with a trainer/nutritionist to help get me on the right track with my fitness and diet goals. As for the weight loss goal, I'm using doTERRA's essential oil blend called Slim and Sassy. This is such a great blend because it gently, naturally, and with no side effects suppresses my cravings and regulates my metabolism and blood sugar. (I'm a nursing mom and I can't be putting anything in my body that could harm my baby!)
I add four drops of Slim and Sassy to 8 ounces of water and sip it throughout the day (especially after meals and when I'm feeling a craving). It has helped me get over those late afternoon sugar cravings (you know, the ones that have you with the jar of peanut butter in one hand and a giant spoon in the other?) that are my downfall each day.
doTERRA is even hosting a Slim and Sassy contest for the new year. You can download fitness and nutrition tracking sheets, find recipes, and enter to win the grand prize of a 2 night stay at the Zermatt Retreat in Park City, Utah, spa treatments, a makeover, free doTERRA products and more! Get the details by visiting iamslimandsassy.com or by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you'll join me in the Slim and Sassy 2012 contest and in resolving to create a healthier lifestyle for yourself. What are some of your health resolutions?
